Amazing embroidered delicate forms of nature
Australian artist Meredith Woolnough has created a wonderful special technique we’ve never seen before. Her amazing embroidery mimics delicate forms of nature like leaves and coral.
Meredith uses a domestic sewing machine and water-soluble fabric. Firstly, she maps out her design on the cloth and creates the sculpted fragment with sewing machine. After that, the base fabric dissolves in water, and only crafted stitchwork remains. Then, she settles these fragments onto paper by mouting them with pins, thereby they don’t touch the background, to obtain charming effects of shadows and depth.
