Consistency vs Effort
Consistency, not effort, is the real key to success in virtually anything. It doesn’t matter how hard are you trying, but how often you are doing it.
It works with almost every aspect of our lives: the health, the being fit, learning, career, the building your own business. In any such things the single burst worth far less than a month of stable, steady work. It’s just stupid to die trying.
A sweat breaking, breathtaking and completely exhausting twenty-four hour marathon won’t put you even a tenth part closer to your goal than the twenty-four days of working an hour a day on the desired achievement.
However, it could be harder to sacrifice an hour every day to achieving the previously set goals. Not all days are born equal. Someday you feel good and active but someday something happens that turn you down. It could be troubles at work or in family, some unexpected and overwhelming event, or an appointment that lasts into the night leaving no time for anything else. In any case, sometimes putting a little work consistently on a day to day basis could be really harder than making a one time effort. Well, nothing come easy and nothing come free.
Of course, our lives should not be the dull grey chains of the failed attempts to overcome the Obstacles. Sometimes you should surrender to the circumstances of the moment just to keep yourself sane and happy or, at least, not so unhappy. It’s not an easy thing to do—to keep the balance between motivating yourself for the consistent day to day work and not bashing yourself for every little fault, for every little step aside from the hard trail to success. But this is very important.
Whatever happens, just remember to keep calm and carry on. Your well-deserved reward won’t make you wait for it.
