Living Desert Zoo & Gardens, USA
The Living Desert was established in 1970 by several trustees of the Museum of the Desert Palm Springs who foresaw the impact that tourism development would have on local desert ecosystem. This forecast took an interpretive trail and preserve in Palm Desert.
For nearly four decades, The Living Desert is dedicated to the important work of preservation, conservation and interpretation of the desert and life of its varied flora and fauna.
The grounds were expanded from 360 acres to 1,200 acres. 1,000 acres remain in their natural state. The Living Desert was accepted in 1989 as a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
Here visitors will see amazing animals living in different deserts of America and the world, as well as dozens of representatives of the vegetable kingdom. The whole park is divided into zones, deserts of Mexico coexist with Mojave, a number of African and Asian deserts, and all I do not remember. In each such zone grow plants unique to her and placed thence inhabitants.
