In Memory of Fallen Heroes

Flowers are some of nature’s most magnificant creations. Even in the darkness and hardest moments in our life, they can help us find the world’s beauty.

A great example of flowers’ uplifting quality comes in the form of a commemoration of World War I by citizens of the U.K. After the war’s end, survivors and family members planted about 888,246 porcelain poppies around the Tower of London. Each of the blood-red flowers represents a British military fatality during the war, which began in 1914 and ended four years later in 1918.
