Mytischi water main monument

One of the most literal monument dedicated to the water supply system could be found in the town of Mytischi, in the middle of the vastly scattered northern outskirts of the Russian capital Moscow. The water main monument in Mytischi, which is in fact just the three huge pipes each crowned with the even bigger valve, was erected in 2004 to celebrate another anniversary of the first Russian water main—it’s called vodoprovod in Russian—that has began to feed Moscow with fresh water back in 1779.
