Constructed from sand dredged from the bottom of the Persian Gulf, Palm Jumeirah and Palm Jebel Ali are two artificial islands on the coast of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Only one of them, Palm Jebel Ali is completed. The creation of the other one started in 2001 and a third island was planed but later remodeled and renamed to Deria Island.

Design of the Water Discus Hotel is created by the Deep Ocean Technology. The building of the hotel composed of two discs, one above the sea level and another — below. Those two are connected by lifts and a stairway. As Deep Ocean Technology indicates, the primary concern in this design is safety. Even the impact of a tsunami is carefully calculated.

A fabulous apartment complex comprises 42 villas drifting underwater. The concept of the project is: Each villa has three floors, two of which are located above the water level and one – under water. Swiss pilot and inventor Yves Rossy, together with partner Vince Reffetom shot an incredible video depicting their synchronized flight over Dubai, using jetpacks.

The fearless professional pilot began designing his pack back in 2004. After several years of experimentation and adjustments, he managed to finish the “machine.” It’s possible to fly up in such a pack only by an aircraft, but it can elivate and stay up for 6 to 13 minutes, at a speed of 180 to 300 kilometers per hour.
