The haunted forest Aokigahara in Japan
You must be wondering why Aokigahara is haunted? Well, the story you will hear about this, beautiful and creepy place will shock you.
It’s also known as Sea of Trees, Demon forest and Suicide forest. Yes, you’ve heard correctly! Suicide forest because of the 500 confirmed suicides there during 1950’s.
Called “the perfect place to die,” this forest is the world’s second most popular place for suicide, because the Golden Gate Bridge is being the first – we will talk about it in some of our next posts.
Legend says that this all started after Seicho Matsumoto published a novel by the name of Kuroi Kaiju or Black Sea of Trees in 1960. The story ends with two lovers committing suicide in the forest so many people believe that’s what started it all.
