We’ve seen the rabbit island, the cat island and now it’s the ponies turn to show us their island of Foula in Britain, which has more fairy tale-like miniature ponies than human inhabitants.
It’s never about the islands people are interested about but the animals who live there and on this one hundreds of stuffed ponies await for your arrival.
With only 30 people there, this place is a paradise on Earth for horse lovers or children who want to play with a real pony. The ponies have heavy coats, short legs, and are considered intelligent. They are so magically-unbelievably-darn-cute, you’ll start wondering whether you’re dreaming or not.
Before you start packing your suitcase, scroll down and take a look at the collection we’ve made for this pony paradise. It may look abandoned at first place, but after seeing the thousand ponies running around, it will make no difference if the place looks old and abandoned at all!
The largest and only permanently populated island of the Svalbard archipelago in northern Norway is a place you will definitely be amazed by. Peace and perfection screams out of its landscape.
The landscape is also very varied because of the geology and the climate. Near the coast of Spitsbergen, the landscape is very alpine with pointed mountains, which gave Spitsbergen its name.
On Spitsbergen you will have the possibility to hear the northern light flash across the sky, to clean your lungs and fill them with sharp air, and you’ll get all the best of Spitsbergen, if you decide to explore the western edge of the island and venturing to some northern outlying areas home to polar bears and Walrus.
If you decide to put this island on your travel list, it will leave you with visions creating eternal memories, because once you have seen Spitsbergen you will always be able to close your eyes and re-live it – again and again.
We have prepared a small collection of the beauty captured on this island you can check by scrolling down. Enjoy!
If you are a rabbit lover, Okunoshima will be like a paradise to you. It’s about a small island located in the Inland Sea of Japan in the city of Takehara, Hiroshima Prefecture.
As islands that are occupied by wild animals go, Okunoshima, better known as Usaga Jima or Rabbit Island, is probably the cutest.
Situated in the East Sea/Inland Sea of Japan, the small island is occupied by hundreds of wild rabbits that roam the forests and paths, chase tourists, appear in viral videos and just generally lounge around.
They also provide a much needed counterbalance to the island’s otherwise dark history – as the production site for Japan’s chemical weapons during the Second World War.
Most apartments in Japan forbid pets, so if you are an animal lover and you want to visit Japan sometimes, this is an opportunity to enjoy the company of these cute furry friends on the island.
Constructed from sand dredged from the bottom of the Persian Gulf, Palm Jumeirah and Palm Jebel Ali are two artificial islands on the coast of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Only one of them, Palm Jebel Ali is completed. The creation of the other one started in 2001 and a third island was planed but later remodeled and renamed to Deria Island.
Palm Jumereah is also a status symbol in Dubai. Take a look at these photos of them, they will leave you speechless.
Tashirojima, also called The Cat Island, is a small island in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan on the northern coast of Japan.
The human population there is near 100, but the cats number is more than 800. The cat population is so large due to the local belief that feeding cats will bring wealth and good fortune. It is so from the past, when the local islanders raised silkworms for silk, and cats were kept in order to keep the mouse population (mice are natural predators of silkworms) down. By the way, if you want to visit the Cat Island, just remember to leave your dogs at home as no dogs are allowed on the island.
Small Japanese island Okunoshima can be considered as one large zoo for rabbits. This island becomes home to more than 300 rabbits and they are walking free throughout the island.
The history of the emergence of rabbits is a big secret, but people there think that a group of students in 1971, who came for tour through the island, brought a few rabbits. Soon new eared inhabitants filled the island. Also you can see such posts: Portrait of an adorable rabbits and Fuzzy Jumpers
