Who said homeless people can’t have pets?

Homeless people are a major problem around the world no one wants to talk about and while being homeless is hard enough as it is, the environment is even worse when pets are involved.

There are approximately 600,000 homeless people only in the USA and 10% of them have pets! While many people think that homeless people shouldn’t have pets, the reality is that many of them have a special bond with their animals, and the benefits go both ways.

Although many shelters don’t allow pets inside, the new organization called Collide started up in the Lower East Side of New York and hopes to provide assistance to both homeless people and their pets, as they understand the special relationship shared by them. Scroll down and take a look at some of the people in the shelters and on the streets together with their best friends!
