Believe it or not, there are animals that can pretend they are dead. Just like you imagined it, they lie on the ground with closed eyes and stopped breathing.
The reason they do this is danger. When they feel they have to protect their self from other animals, people or getting killed, they start acting their own scenario.
You won’t even recognize their trick until they start running after danger is far away from them.
